An essential part of my job includes creating an environment that promotes learning. This means creating procedures and policies that control the chaos. This page includes my policies. I have a straight forward three step process, but there are some situations that require a student to be immediately removed from the environment. I do not like to do this, because I can only impact them when they are in my classroom, but if they are interfering with others, then that is the step I have to take. I have over thirty students in several of my classes. This means that I have to be more rigid then if I had fewer students, because every interaction is multiplied. I try to talk with students when there are issues, but these conversations are usually only 2-3 minutes, because I am putting my instruction on hold during this process. I make accommodations when they are necessary, and this is between the student involved and me.
